Job Description
- Nomuda Games is offering a summer internship for 3-D artists interested in applying their skills and taking them to the next level. As an environmental/object artist, you will gain valuable experience and produce top-notch artwork for your portfolio by working directly with our Art Director on modeling and texturing that will appear in the second episode of “Reedu: The First Explorer,” a series of adventure games on the Android platform.
- In addition, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on other creative projects as our entire team is included in brainstorms about storyline elements, puzzles, and overall gameplay issues.
- As a startup, we seek entrepreneurially-minded candidates who are willing to tackle any challenge required to make our games smashing successes.
Internship Requirements
- (read carefully and be sure each requirement is addressed in your application materials)
- - Pursing BA in Game Art and Design, with a concentration in 3D environment art
- - Mastery of Maya and Photoshop
- o Experience with UE3, UDK, or Unity is a major plus
- o Working knowledge of Illustrator a plus
- - Strong desire to work in the video game industry
- - Fine art skills, ability to sketch concept art, and an interest in hand illustration/painting of textures
- - Self-motivated, reliable, and willing to do whatever it takes to meet deadlines
- - Prior internship or job experience in game design or another art production role
- - Entrepreneurial mindset: capable of dealing with ambiguity, taking initiative, and accepting a great deal of responsibility for helping to grow our company
- - Experience playing touch-based mobile games
- This is a paid internship (stipend for the summer) with the opportunity for continuing project work into the school year, depending on the intern’s availability.
