Meeteor - Graphic/Web Design Intern

Summary:

Meeteor makes it ridiculously easy to meet new people in your community for social and professional networking. By leveraging existing social networks and a robust matching process Meeteor automatically finds interesting and relevant new people for you to meet and then schedule coffees, lunches and dinners so that you can connect in person with the right people within your community.

Meeteor is seeking a brilliant graphic designer to join us for the summer and help redesign our web and mobile applications. You’ll get your hands dirty in high level user experience design and implementation – giving our service a unique brand and personality. The ideal candidate is overflowing with initiative and doesn’t understand the words “can’t be done.” He or she will bring an energetic, fun and creative approach to the team.

Design, rapidly iterate, and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable new features
Build on and improve our exisiting design, logo, look & feel.
Play a key role in defining the user experience of our site (we’re a startup, everyone’s gotta chip in!)

Pursuing a B.A. or Masters equivalent in Graphic Design
Comfortable with HTML/CSS
Characteristics of a rock star candidate
Experience in web and mobile app design – strong portfolio
Significant experience with designing social network/dating related websites
Previous experience in a start-up environment
Passion for clean & beautiful user experience
Ability to identify a problem and find the solution on your own
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining highly technical problems in English
